25th Birthday Getaway : Japamala Resort – Day 2

On the second day, we both have to wake up at 5am in order to catch our 7am ferry at Mersing jetty to get to Japamala Resort.
It was about an hour and a half drive from Johor Bahru to Mersing Jetty and it is not advisable unless you really want to / have to stop at Johor Bahru.
Roads are bumpy, full with holes and most of the time there’s only one lane. All of these drive my boyfriend crazy haha.

From KL, you probably need about 5 hours of drive to Mersing Jetty and another one hour plus of ferry to Tioman or you can just fly to Tioman’s airport through Berjaya Air for only an hour.
Fatty swear to never drive to Mersing again (LOL) and claimed that he did it just because I wanted to go to Johor Bahru.
Okay I give him extra 50 points lah for being such a sweet boyfriend as he claimed to be.

There’s only one ferry company and it’s called Bluewater Express. Ticket is RM35 per way for an air-conditioned ferry which if were to compare is far from Macau’s ferry.
Not to mention they are also very bad at their services because on the day we left, they were behind schedule for more than one and a half hour.
What’s worse is that they are not even apologetic and kept shouting that they can only fit 50 passengers right there and then.
So what about the others who waited at the jetty for about 2 hours?
Lucky us we were among the 50 passengers or else I don’t know how Fatty will react. But then again you’ve got no choice because this is the only ferry company that operates which is why flying to Tioman is no doubt the best choice.

#1 Mersing jetty.

20131111-001322.jpg
#2 How the ferry looks like from the inside.

There’s a few stops and to go to Japamala Resort you’ll have to get down at the first stop, Genting.
At Genting jetty, Japamala Resort had a speedboat ready to send us to Japamala which takes only about 5 minutes.

20131111-001331.jpg
#3 You will of course have to inform Japamala on your boarding time at Mersing Jetty so that they’ll know what time they have to pick you up at Genting’s jetty.

Japamala charges Rm30 per way from Genting jetty to Japamala which I think is quite ridiculous.
Guests spend so much a day at Japamala Resort and they feel the need to charge us Rm30 per way, per person for a 5 minutes distance.
Well, that’s not very sweet of them.

You rent their room for at least about Rm500 per night, you are force to eat at Japamala too because it’s a private beach so there’s nothing else and it’ll cost at least RM30 per dish (lunch & dinner) and then you’ll most likely go for a massage for at least Rm150.
Hotel Icon at Hong Kong gave us free upgrade, free minibar and free shuttle bus lor okay.
It’s not that I don’t have the money, it’s just that why don’t they be a little kind/sweet instead of erm say money minded? PFFT! Okay lah actually this is my only complain and I only got angry like now when I blog. It didn’t occur to me when I was there that they shouldn’t charge the guests, guess I was too happy to give a shit lol.

Plants, animals and land have been disturbed as little as possible. It’s been our goal to build around nature – to respect and preserve the inherent beauty of this destination; to coexist with all who dwell here. Great care has been taken to minimize any environmental impact. No rocks were moved, no trees were cut down. As a result no two Villas are the same. Each is unique – taking on the character of the land upon which it is built.

Truly appreciate their love for nature that instead of building what they want, they decided to build around the nature and adjust to it’s shapes and forms.
I heard there were monkeys, sometimes dipping themselves into one of Japamala’s pool early in the morning. :)

#4 Walking towards the lobby from Japamala’s jetty.

20131111-001655.jpg
#5 It was drizzling when we arrived cause it was monsoon season. Pfft!

20131111-001831.jpg
#6 Breakfast is included and because we have to leave real early the next day due to the stupid Bluewater Express’ schedule, we had our breakfast on the day we arrived instead.

20131111-001842.jpg
#7 It’s a small breakfast buffet with ala-carte that you can order.

20131111-002017.jpg
#8 Right next to Tamarind Restaurant, where we had our breakfast.

Japamala Resort is owned by Samadhi Retreats and so are Neo Tamarind, Tamarind Springs, and so on.
We didn’t get to check in until 12pm because I requested for Room 16 which has the best view among the Sea Cliff Chalet.
so we just walked around, checked out the places and took a nap at one of their cabanas.

20131111-002203.jpg
#9 We had to climb a number of stairs in order to reach our room. I was panting every time.

20131111-002237.jpg
#10 Gosh I miss this!

20131111-002337.jpg
#11 Rm660 were charged for a night stay at Sea Cliff Chalet and this is the price for non-peak season due to monsoon. Full rate will be Rm890 per night.

Tips: Must request for Room 16 if you’re taking Sea Cliff Chalet, it has got the best view.

20131111-002403.jpg
#12 Spot my balloon! Yes, I brought my balloon all the way. :D

20131111-002503.jpg
#13

20131111-002616.jpg
#14 Every time we go to nice hotel or resort I’ll tell Fatty, ‘Bay, next time we put this in our house’ and obviously for this time, I want THIS in our garden. So demanding haha.

20131111-002956.jpg
#15

20131111-002634.jpg
#16 If not for the monsoon, the sea will be a lot bluer than this. I was actually surprised that Tioman is included in a ‘Island-you-must-go’ kind of list.

20131111-002655.jpg
#17 One of the Sea Cliff Chalet opposite ours. Don’t know how they see the sea lah, surrounded by trees.

After settling down, Fatty went for his massage while I took a shower and rest in the room.
There’s only one masseuse so we have to take turns and it’s quite a turn off when couples cant do their massage together.
I was like, ‘HAR!? :( :( :( ‘ because we’re left with no choice. Definitely time consuming.

20131111-002919.jpg
#18 Different types of massage will have different venue and this is one of the venue.

20131111-003045.jpg
#19 While this is the second, a room for Thai massage.

Fatty’s massage was RM150 and as for mine, I took Head and Shoulder massage for Rm125 which lasts both of us an hour.
The masseuse was so good I actually fell asleep and that is rare for me cause I hardly sleep during massage.
We also book a Jacuzzi for two for RM100 and while they take their time to prepare and heat it up, we went off to take some pictures.

#24 This is the jetty and Mandi-Mandi Restaurant that serves Italian food for lunch and dinner.

20131111-003551.jpg
#25 This is the best! The backrest is 45 degree angle that is perfect for you to rest on and just do nothing.

#27 Spotted crabs.

20131111-003811.jpg
#28 And a cute bird. :)

20131111-003923.jpg
#29 Then it’s jacuzzi time! Jacuzzi that was filled with bubbles and two pots of hot tea by the side for us to enjoy.

20131111-004131.jpg
#30 The jacuzzi was ze bomb! There was bubble everywhere and it smells so good!

Due to me being the cheapskate me, I was in the jacuzzi for about half an hour even though I know I shouldn’t.
When I get out of the jacuzzi, I almost fainted. I couldn’t stand the dizzyness I dropped on the floor. T_T
Dahlah got low blood pressure, still want to put myself in a hot tub for that long. Haha, I hate myself sometimes.

20131111-004038.jpg
#31 Hahaha stupid boyfriend tried to used bubble to make himself look like a santa claus.

20131111-004732.jpg
#32 Went off to snorkeling after Jacuzzi. My first time snorkeling with Fatty and my first time wearing flippers too. It was fun!
Snorkeling equipment can be rent for free.

20131111-004745.jpg
#33 HAHAHAH! So ugly!

20131111-004951.jpg
#34 “Why did you take picture of my ass!?’ Haha cause I can’t really see the screen and I just randomly snap whatever I could.

20131111-004924.jpg
#35 Fatty was so busy swimming and snorkeling, he didn’t help take pictures of me snorkeling. Meh, so I have to self layan and take my fingers instead.

20131111-004851.jpg
#36 There were lots of fishes swimming around and I was particularly drawn to this colourful fish. I also saw sea cucumber and sea urchin.
Showered after snorkeling and off we went for happy hour.
From 6pm to 7pm everyday, Japamala will have happy hour and offers free drinks and snacks for guests.

20131111-005655.jpg
#38 The boy suggested that I sit on the bridge. :)

#39

20131111-005838.jpg
#40 Heaven on earth.

20131111-005905.jpg
#41 It just keeps getting better.

20131111-010030.jpg
#42 Tomato soup.

20131111-010022.jpg
#43 Beef carpaccio.

20131111-005952.jpg
#44 Beef.

20131111-005940.jpg
#45 Lobster tagliatelle.

Food was really decent and up to standard. I especially love their beef carpacio and lobster tagliatelle.
I didn’t want to order their soup but Fatty always tends to order a lot. Something he totally inherited from his dad, over order during meals.
Total damage done was Rm341 excluding tax.

I asked Fatty, ‘You didn’t get me cake ah? You didn’t ask them to prepare cake for me meh?’ with puppy eyes and he said he did not.
So I replied, ‘WHY? :( :( You can just ask them for cake they have it one!’ and Fatty beh tahan me so he had to screw up his surprise and said ‘Got lah, got lah. Aiyo this girl’. HAHAHA!

20131111-010124.jpg
#46 Yay! The type of cake that I dislike the most, chocolate cake. HAHA!

20131111-010117.jpg
#47 I couldn’t be happier, really. :)

20131111-010109.jpg
#48 Thank you baby for celebrating yet another birthday with me. He somehow promised that for my birthday every year, we’ll go for a getaway. As the Chinese says, ‘listen first lah’ (teng ju sin). Hehe. :)

20131111-010208.jpg
#49 Despite the monsoon season, the sea was really blue the next morning when we woke up. Imagine normal sunny days, this will be your paradise.

I only wish that we can stay for another night cause I’m a greedy girl like that. Haha.
I had the time of my life, relax, fun, and lots of laughter on my birthday.
Despite being the oldest I have ever been right now, this year’s birthday is one of the best.

Great getaway and I also finally have the ability to get myself a birthday present that I’ve wanted all this years.
The latest Iphone! Hehehe.
Don’t want to jinx it but God has been very generous to me this year, I cant thank God enough. :)

P/S: My blog just turned 7 too.

25th Birthday Getaway : Johor Bahru – Day 1

A quarter of century gone!
I’m afraid I have to agree to the saying that age is just a number.
I am still very much a kid at heart, my boyfriend knows best.

I guess the only part that makes me feel like a 25 is that I get tired more often compared to few years ago.
There are times where I used to conflict myself by very looking forward to my own birthday but at the same time dislike the aging part.
Then it strikes me, why am I dreading the aging part? It’s a blessing in disguise.
We should all feel blessed to have the chance to age and to grow, despite the number. It’s just a number after all.

Even if we look older, even if we have more wrinkles and what not we should all be grateful that we stand a chance at all.
I feel especially blessed to have another year surrounded by people I love, my family, my other half and my friends. :)

For this year’s birthday I actually planned for a getaway at Alang Rawa but I never seemed to get a reply from them after sending a few emails. Are they close during monsoon season or are they just that bad in replying? :(
I’ve been telling Fatty that I wanted to go to Alang Rawa since ages ago but it just didn’t happen.
I’ll just have to wait for my bff to be back next year and make this happen, pfft.

Fatty suggested Japamala Resort at Tioman and since I also wanted to go check out Johor Bahru because I’ve never really been there, my plan to Alang Rawa changed.
Johor Bahru and Tioman Island it is.

We occupied our time at Johor Bahru on the first day and drove to Mersing on the second.
Due to the fact that we’re gonna spend quite an amount of money at Tioman, I decided to choose a much more affordable hotel for our stay at Johor Bahru.

surroundings-1-1024x682
#1 I am Jazz Hotel at Bandar Baru Permas Jaya for only Rm100 a night.

the-hotel-3-1024x682
#2 It’s a decent hotel with basic amnesties.

room-and-suites-1-1024x682
#3 It’s not that bad for a Rm100 room isn’t it? Pictures are from their website by the way.

We arrived at Johor Bahru during noon time, almost evening.
First stop was IT Roo cafe to get our hunger fix at Johor Bahru Old Town.
Claimed as ‘Best Chicken Chop in Malaysia’, IT Roo is one of the oldest established Hainanese restaurant in Johor Bahru.

20131110-124438.jpg
#4 I ordered Grilled Black Pepper Chicken Chop while Fatty ordered Fried Chicken Chop in Mushroom sauce. Fried chicken chop was a lot better than the grilled one, it was crispy and crunchy with the batter mix which I quite like. Fatty however prefer Yut Kee’s chicken chop more than IT Roo’s.

20131110-124447.jpg
#5 Root beer float will always be the bomb no matter where.

20131110-124353.jpg
#6 Contrast, love the colours of the door and the grills. I also dyed my hair, violet brown or something like that and red ends.

#8 Took a walk around Johor Bahru Old Town after our late lunch.

#9 How so true when we really have the ability to give. :)

20131110-124613.jpg
#10 A little reminder.

20131110-124455.jpg
#11 Second stop : Chaiwalla & Co, a container cafe.

20131110-124534.jpg
#12 Container is love! But I wish they sell better drinks instead of drinks like bubble tea.

20131110-124503.jpg
#13 Chaiwalla do sell desserts too.

#19 Roost.

20131110-124810.jpg
#20 Roost Repurposed & Recycled that’s just few shops away from Roost. They mainly serve drinks, yogurts, and salads.

20131110-124744.jpg
#21 Fascinated by the fact that the shop owner built almost all the furniture himself, I made it a point that I have to at least drop by.

20131110-124819.jpg
#22 When I have a house of my own, I really do prefer doing-it-myself too instead of buying because that way I get to have what I really want. I only wish that Fatty will agree with me and we can get our hands dirty together in the future. :D

20131110-124904.jpg
#23 A rather different approach from KL’s cafes designs.

20131110-124912.jpg

#28 How you can make full use of unwanted cups.

20131110-125055.jpg
#29 My Fatty who dreaded going to JB with me but it’s not so bad after all.

We were really full from all the coffees but my boyfriend has got this hope that we can actually eat some Johor Bak Kut Teh. Unfortunately Bak Kut Teh restaurants at Johor closes really early. Would actually love to try it.
I also secretly wanted to go to Danga Bay after I saw online that there’s a funfair over there but I kept quiet because funfair doesn’t sound so much like a Fatty’s thing.
To my surprise, he said he wanted to bring me over without me even mentioning anything about Danga Bay. :D

20131110-125130.jpg
#30 Yay!! Funfair!! :D

20131110-125137.jpg
#31 I was extremely happy like a little kid.

It’s a permanent funfair and I must say it’s a really good one. It’s big, filled with a lot of rides.
A really good place for family on a Sunday evening.

20131110-125147.jpg
#33 You gotta love a two tier merry-go-round. :)

20131110-125153.jpg
#34

20131110-125217.jpg
#35 Blur picture in the train. And yes, Fatty bought me a heart shape helium balloon. Hehehe.

It was very fun especially when Fatty agrees to go on rides with me.
It’s rare that he will agree to go on a merry-go-round with me you’ve got no idea. <3 But the bumper car which he enjoyed the most made me feel like I'm about to die. The collisions were so hard I actually felt pain. Pfft! Despite that, it was a lovely lovely day. I only wish that we could arrive at Johor earlier so that I can cafe hop more. 20131110-125559.jpg

Simple birthday dinner at The Press Room Bistro.

Just filling my blog with some pictures taken at my birthday dinner before I go back to watching tv and being busy at the same time.

I decided to go for a simple dinner with a few of my friends (while a few more couldn’t make it for various reasons) at Pavilion’s Press Room.

#1 My outfit for the night.

#2 With a hole at the back which I failed to capture and Fatty at the background busy doing god-knows-what.

#3 I ordered Spring Chicken with The Press Room Mash (RM50).

#4 Which I totally regret not because that the dish does not taste nice at all but it’s because I really like this Creamed Squid Ink Rice (RM39) that Weng Kee ordered. My first time trying anything related to squid ink but it was so good!

#5 Victor’s pathetic looking Croque Madame (RM25), the classic turkey ham and cheese sandwich with a sunny-side up. Pathetic looking for a dinner but the taste doesn’t fail at all.

#6 Candles, they will just keep increasing.

#7 Thank you Fatty for the cake from RT Pastry. :)

#8 With Victor, my good friend and Fatty’s gay friend.

#9 And the remaining boys, Poh Juan, Gavin and Weng Kee.

Yes, there’s no girls I do realise that.
My girl friends are either busy working or far far away from me, how sad.
But truth be told, I’ve always have more guy friends than girl friends anyway cause girls are sometimes way too scary.
I’m a girl and I admit that fact.

#10 My new guy friend, I wish! He’s The Press Room Bistro’s manager who offered me a drink after knowing that it was my birthday and because he looks handsome I have to take a picture with him.

Fatty ruined my moment by telling him that I said he was handsome!
He should be jealous and shut up and not say anything.
Thank God I didn’t blush or I’ll need to dig myself a hole and hide in it.

Ended my amazing night playing poker with the boys.
I have now officially become a weekly gambler with cards in my bag.
How-not-decent.

24th Birthday Getaway : Melaka (Day 2)

Continuation of my Melaka post, just pure captions actually.

#1 Rise and shine.

#2 I’ve never really walked around Melaka as early as about 9am but it’s really great. Fresh air, less crowd, and especially windy that day.

#3 We walked into random back alleys…

#4 …and take silly pictures.

#5 After walking for a while we went over to a Lung Ann Refreshments to try out another famous duck noodle.

#6 Service was really weird because we don’t get to order anything and all we do was just to sit and wait until they come to us. Which kinda took like 25 minutes after we sat down. Mm hmm.

#7 Typical Malaysian Chinese breakfast, half boiled eggs.

#8 Fatty’s fish ball noodle that I have absolute no interest at. Me no do fish ball noodle, not my bowl of mee.

#9 My duck noodle which is better than the duck noodle from Kedai Kopi & Makanan Soon Yen. The duck meat weren’t so shredded and the sauce taste just nice.

There’s also a very famous Pork Satay at Lung Ann Refreshment but we were there too early so we didn’t get to try.
Another next time maybe.

Lung Ann Refreshment
93/807, Lorong Hang Jebat, 75200 Melaka

#10 After our breakfast we rushed over to Baba and Nyonya Heritage Museum to catch their first session. There are two sessions everyday and visiting hours are from 10am to 12.30pm and from 2pm to 4.30pm.

#11 Unfortunately no pictures are allowed in the museum or else I would have snap a lot. Don’t worry about heat and all, it’s air conditioned. Entry is RM10 per person. Worth a visit but I kind of like Laksaman Cheng Ho Museum more because I get to play around and stuff.

We both walked back to The Stable for a short rest before packing our things up and continue the last part of our journey.

#12 Also, making a full use on the sunlight beaming in from the window.

#13 My silly fat boy.

#14 You see, I really enjoy staying at The Stable and I even asked myself if this is my house I seriously wouldn’t mind. It’s small but the space is sufficient just for the both of us. Just the way I like it. (:

#15 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

#16 The view from our window, pretty ain’t it?

#17 ‘The Stable’, it’ll be better if the rate is RM200 per night. #cheapskate

#18 A lame picture of Mr.Choi Lan. Never trust what he recommends.

#19 We walked around at Hereen street and came across something interesting. ‘8 Heeren Street is a two-storey building that was originally built in the 18th century, and was restored by local heritage body, Badan Warisan Malaysia, as a showcase of how a building of that period look like.” It’s a project to persevere the building by volunteered architects and organizations.’

“#20 Fatty paid so much attention reading all the facts and terms while I was too pissed at mosquitoes sucking my blood.

#21 There’s no entrance fee needed and a guy will explain the rest of the stories.

#22 I was so distracted by those mosquitoes I cant be bothered listening to the guy explain, so I randomly took pictures of the place instead.

#23 And here he’s explaining something about roof tiles.

#24 The Baboon House.

After getting pissed at the mosquitoes and fatty getting pissed at me getting pissed at the mosquitoes we went to our last stop at Melaka.

#25 You’ll mistaken this place as an art gallery if you decide not to walk further in.

#26 Walk pass all the arts and you’ll come to a nice cafe inside. The Baboon House is just a really long house, keep walking and you’ll be surprised.

#27 Surrounded by greens and plants under the sunlight, no better place to have a cup of coffee.

#28 Baboon, they have none but there’s a cute Golden Retriever for you to go awww. He was being really lazy that day but he did come to our table and greet us, how cute.

#29 They also have a cat for you to play with if you’re more of a cat person. I heard they used to have a duck but the duck got lost and went missing.

#30 And mini fishes in a jar on our table.

#31 Fatty’s coffee.

#32 My ice blended mango.

#33 Burger from The Baboon House surprised us, it was really good. In fact, it was a lot better than the ones I had in KL.

#34 I ordered BLT Sandwich which is equally just as good, though the taste wasn’t that much of a difference since both had bacon in it.

#35 As I said, the house is really long so walk further in if you’d like to explore more.

#36 Different kind of settings to suit your liking.

#37 This could just be the one I like most. :)

The Baboon House
89, Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lok, Melaka, Malaysia

I will definitely be back to The Baboon’s House the next time I’m at Melaka.
It was meant to be Mods Cafe but they weren’t in town when we were there but I’m glad I gave The Baboon House a go.

I was feeling really lazy and it took me days and days to finally publish this.
So lazy to the point where I only wrote a few captions a day and closed the tab later on.
Somebody please shake my lazy bugs off.

24th Birthday Getaway : Melaka

Birthday post! :)
Or maybe not so much of a birthday post since there’s no cake in my post.

I celebrated my birthday weekend at Melaka, with a swollen neck and a fat boyfriend.
It was somewhere around end of September that this ‘I-want-to-go-to-Melaka’ feeling bugs me but we both just couldn’t find the right time.
So after waiting for more than a month the best time to go turns out to be my birthday weekend.

This time, we ditched the commons. No chicken rice, no satay celup, and no Jonker Walk foods.
I have a list of eateries waiting for us to try them out.
I always have lists and itineraries when it come to travelling for I believe that doing research before hand will gain me the most out of those trips. And along the way, that’s where the random exploration takes place.

We reached Melaka early and checking in early was out of the dictionary so filling up our empty stomachs seems like the best thing to do.

#1 First stop : Kedai Kopi & Makanan Soon Yen.

#2 Famous duck noodles is what brought us here.

#3 I was hoping that the first bite I take will take me by surprise but unfortunately it did not. The duck noodle with gravy sauce was okay but I felt like there was a lack of taste. I also regretted ordering a large portion because this should be our makan trip but the hunger in me made me lost my self control for that little while. If it’s a makan trip, just go for the smallest portion at all times.

#4 Fish ball is normally what I’d stay away from but since we’re on an eating spree, I gave it the green light.

#5 Also can be called as Melaka Loh Bak which contains fish ball, fish skin fritters, and prawn fritters that came with sweet chilli sauce. I like the prawn fritters the most and when dipped in the sweet chilli sauce, it opened up my appetite.

#6 Second stop : Baba Low. It took us some while to search for Baba Low, the colonial style bungalow right in front block the entire view.

#7 I ordered Nyonya Laksa for myself and I really like the laksa broth a lot for being extremely flavorful. Downside was that I wasn’t feeling too well and I’m not advised to take in spicy food AND COCKLES or else I would have whack the entire bowl. I was also a little full from that big portion of duck noodle.

#8 Boyfriend ordered Pai Tee which I am not interested at. If my tummy allows me, I will go for mee siam anytime.

#9 Le bf.

Visiting Baba Low will definitely be in my list again for the next round.
I want to really enjoy my nyonya laksa and try their mee siam as well, it’s a must!

After eating so much, it’s time for us to check in and sleep (LOL).
We stayed at ‘The Stable’, which is extremely convenient for us because it’s right smack in Jonker Walk.

#10 We paid RM380 nett (weekend) for a night stay or if you’re on a budget you can always opt for weekdays (RM300 nett).

#11 The Stable welcomes us with a pantry and a coffee machine.

#12 Small living area with magazines and games for you to play if you need to entertain yourself.

#13 History of Melaka hangs on the wall.

#14 Behind that glass door is where the toilet is and two umbrellas in case of rainy days which we make full use of.

#15 Worry not on toiletries, they provided everything.

#16 Small and cozy, perfect for couple.

#17 Take the stairs up and that’s where the room is. Yes, it’s a two stories boutique guesthouse all to yourself and your partner.

#18 Love the bricks and definitely loving the huge mirror that gives a baroque feeling to the room.

#19 An inviting and comfortable bed greets us, waiting for us to sink in.

#20 Flat screen tv with Astro channels and some dvds for us.

‘Original wooden beams dances around richly-textured rooms of rough exposed bricks, Peranakan tiles, quaint louvered windows and reclaimed lumber floor. An inviting bed beckons you to relax while looking out the window to the lively street below. With a brilliant collision of influences – from the modern to the baroque to the local Peranakan heritage, this small guesthouse is an inspired fusion of old-world charm with distinctly contemporary style and energy’

#23 Absolutely love my stay in this guesthouse.

#24 Haha! I asked for a picture and there he was, acting all silly.

We took a nap before heading out again but I was pretty reluctant seeing that Melaka was raining at that moment.
Why don’t we stay in and continue sleeping instead?

#25 In such a cold weather, we needed coffee and after walking under the rain going into cafes that are closing we finally settled for Limau-limau cafe.

#26 Who cares about the rain? We had a good laugh at our legs getting real dirty so often because of it.

#27 Getting my coffee fix.

#29 Third stop : Dinner at Medan Ikan Bakar Muara Sungai Duyong.

#30 Lots of fresh seafood for us to choose from.

#31 Forgot what it’s called in Malay.

#32 Sotong goreng which Fatty really like.

#33 Bakar ikan pari which turns out to be TASTELESS. We didn’t ordered bakar bercili afraid that it might get too spicy for us but I didn’t expect it to be this tasteless either.

#34 There’re packets of nasi lemak on the table and it was the best from the dinner. Fatty ordered a plate of nasi putih that is too wet and towards the end of our meal I suggested that we should really try their nasi lemak. Thank God we did, everything tasted so much better with their nasi lemak.

Bill came up to Rm49 including 2 coconuts and 2 otak-otak (too sweet for my liking). Price is rather decent but I still prefer seafood cook in chinese style. I kinda crave for the seafood we had in Penang, a place where I will definitely go every time I’m there.

We went back to The Stable after our meal, to rest and to wait for the time to pass.

#35 How The Stable looks like from the outside, at night.

#36 Fatty took the scrap book he made for my birthday and surprised me.

He told me he was really busy before Melaka and acting all weird, going into his room without me telling me that he’s taking his charger where in fact I took it. I knew he’s up to something. :)
It was very very sweet of him because I can tell that he put in a lot of effort and patience into making the scrap book.
His creativeness, his wittiness, and his sweetness, I appreciate all of that.

#37 The woman I fancy the most, I turned the page and saw my reflection. Hah!

#38 After all the cuddling, it’s his football time. So if you’re like my Fatty who cant live without watching Football, you can head over to Eleven Bistro to catch some football game. Walk into the street where Geographer cafe is and you’ll find a few bistros with football channel on.

#39 It was resting time again so we went back to The Stable, to watch some shows and played Jenga. I took half an hour nap before heading out for supper. My long awaited supper!

#40 Restoran Pak Putra, famous for it’s tandoori and naan.

#41 I was happily noming my favourite food until I remembered I forgot to take a picture of it, hence my pathetic tandoori.

#42 The best naan I’ve ever tried. Onions, garlic, cheese, egg, and butter. Add everything in and this naan will never fail you.

#43 Dhaal which taste just as good.

They also offered Indian food like butter chicken but we were too full to try.
This will also be another restaurant that I will definitely be coming back. Cant get enough of em naans.

We both enjoyed this Melaka trip quite a lot. It was different, we found quite a number of new things and I’m glad that Melaka now seems like an interesting place all again.
I especially love staying at The Stable and the next time if all else permits, I’ll go for ’45 Lekiu’.
45 Lekiu has got the same concept as The Stable, under the same management. What’s better is that 45 Lekiu is so much more bigger than The Stable and they even have a pool to it.

#44 45 Lekiu’s private pool.

#45 Roof patio, probably the best place to chill with a bottle of wine.

#46 Living area with more and more bricks.

#47 3 stories all together, with 2 rooms.

#48 Master bedroom.

#49 That one thing which caught my attention the most, bathtub!

#50 Kitchenette.

You know what, I might as well just wait for my bff to be back and force her and her boyfriend to stay a night with me at 45 Lekiu.
And I’m gonna force her to let me sleep in master bedroom so that I can stay in the bathtub as long as I want.
Both of them can sleep in another room, two single beds. HAHAHAHA! I’m so bad.

Rm999 nett for weekdays and RM1099 net for weekends. I sure do need a number of friends to enjoy such an elegant guesthouse with me.
Don’t you just love it? :)

My twenty-third birthday.

Late, as always.
Where’s my blogging mojo?
I guess my working life kidnapped it!

My twenty-third mini birthday party will not have ‘succeeded’ if Mr.Ben decides not to lend me a helping hand.
I am such a troublesome girlfriend sometimes.
And I gave him even more trouble when he needs to cook together with me for the food.
Gosh he hates it but still he’ll do it because he loves me. /tak-malu haha

* He blew the balloons and hang it on the tree for me.

He actually took the time and Google on how we can decorate the place to make it looks nicer, more appealing to the eyes.
How thoughtful (:

* Along with my helium balloons.

* This post is actually bombarded with pictures of balloons.

* Pink carnation (:

* Seriously hate taking these polaroids with a camera.

* But my scanner doesn’t seem to work ):

* I look like a little girl here. Sorry if this makes you puke haha!

* Wo de bay ♥

* Hihihi, Bryan always looks so cute.

* I like floating helium balloons!

* Spot Poh Juan, trying to help us snap a picture.

* My balloons are kinda big! /happy

* The only person who’s willing to take pictures with me and ze balloons.

* Yan and me.

* One thing sad about balloon is that they will ‘die’. And I thought of keeping ’em till they ‘die’ but my annoying boyf set them free to the sky. Almost want to strangle him ):

* My birthday ‘cake’. Haven’t even started arranging my macaron, Alvin already took one and put it in his mouth. Almost strangle him too.

* Ending my post with a funny picture of me. /heheh

Just a simple birthday where some of my close friends celebrate it with me.
Appreciate much!
A big thank you to those who wish me and to those who made an effort to be with me on my birthday.
A big thank you to my love for doing so much, for all the surprises and love.
A big thank you to my parents for the life they gave me and thank you God for everything.

Oh wait, how can I even forget to mention this.
A big thank you to bff’s boyf Mah Weng Kee for letting me fill up his house with balloons, hah.

With ♥
