Bangkok with Tays : Day 3

Sorry for taking my own sweet time to update posts on Bangkok trip, I don’t even know what I’ve been up to lately.
Tired, restless, and really lazy like all I want to do is just sleep. So much so that I feel like I want to just sleep forever LOL.

So after our half day trip at Maeklong Train Market and Amphawa Floating Market, we headed back to city and checked into Sofitel So hotel.

Sofitel So is located near Lumphini park and station is just few minutes walk away.

Situated on the corner of Sathorn and Rama IV Roads Sofitel So Bangkok is an intrigue-steeped 5-star hotel with a resolutely contemporary outlook.
At the heart of it all The Tree of Life – an emblem designed by famed couturier and design legend Mr. Christian Lacroix – combines the five elements of Water Earth Wood Metal and Fire into uniting icon.
Discover these elements reflected in the design themes of the hotels luxury rooms and suites. Four leading Thai interior designers each bring to life Water Earth Wood and Metal with their own inspired vision.

#1 Greeted by a Mini Cooper that is full with lighted present boxes. Oh wait! I just realised this Mini Cooper is mimicking a reindeer. -_-‘

20140119-153831.jpg
#2 A very welcoming lobby with a dare-to-be-different-Christmas-tree.

20140119-153849.jpg
#3 Even their welcome drinks look exceptionally pretty! Love the colors.

20140119-153859.jpg
#4 What looks like a blue welcome drink is actually a purple welcome drink after your stir it. Attention to detail, I like.

Hotel rooms are separated into four different elements ranging from water, earth, metal, and wood.
Each pair picked a different element for a different experience.

20140119-153910.jpg
#5 Situated on the 21st floor, Belinda and Bernice picked earth element.

20140119-153942.jpg
#6 Among all the elements, I like earth the most although I don’t know why their feature color is blue. Very confusing at some point because isn’t blue suppose to be water?

I’m not a person who fancy blue color that much but I just really like Sofitel So’s shades of blue.

20140119-153919.jpg
#7 Love love love love.

20140119-153933.jpg
#8 Earth element’s room door and sleeping area is separated by a bathroom and when one is showering, there’s no way you can pass through the bathroom without walking pass a naked person lol.

Walking pass a fat naked man, I lagi love. HAHA!

20140119-153952.jpg
#9 Fatty’s parents went for water element and this is the walk-in wardrobe area.

20140119-154001.jpg
#10 Really really comfortable and this is Fatty’s favourite element.

20140119-154042.jpg
#11 Oh, for each room you can also surf the net through the television with keyboard provided. How convenient.

20140119-154012.jpg
#12 I really like water element too for their bathtub.

20140119-154033.jpg
#13 SEE! OMG!!

I love bathtubs since I was young and the only thing I looked forward to when staying in a hotel was the bathtub.
When I was young, the first thing I will check upon entering a hotel room is their bathroom.
Once I saw a bathtub, I will smile and deep in my heart I was jumping with joy.
As for now after so many years, my heart still jump with joy especially when there’s unique bathtubs involve.

20140119-154501.jpg
#14 For the both of us, we choose wood element. I also really like their unique designs for door numbers.

20140119-154520.jpg
#15 Very mature and steady kind of design. A little too steady for me haha.

20140119-154533.jpg
#16

20140119-154544.jpg
#17 When I showered, that glass door was too weak to stop water from flowing out so the floor was really wet after showering. Which is good because after one night sleep, I changed to Metal room. Hahaha.

20140119-154554.jpg
#18 Scale for Fatty to weigh himself after all the food he consumed.

20140119-154614.jpg
#19

20140119-154102.jpg
#20 After checking out all our rooms we went to have a look at their pool. I don’t know, this above to me is such a brilliant design! I was like, ‘OMG Bay look at this, look at this. So clever one the design!’ and he totally ignored me fml. Okay lah maybe it’s just me LOL!.

20140119-154302.jpg
#21 Fatty’s dad was tired so he rested in his room while the remaining five of us waste no time. Then we came across a street protest outside Terminal 21.

20140119-154312.jpg
#22 Experiencing Bangkok’s protest first hand but it was peaceful, nothing major.

20140119-154321.jpg
#23 Fatty and his babes, haha.

20140119-154339.jpg
#24 Everyone was craving for cakes and coffees so we randomly walked into Farm Design.

20140119-154350.jpg
#25 Farm Design sells Japanese cakes and drinks.

20140119-154407.jpg
#26 Lots of flavors to choose from.

20140119-154426.jpg
#27 Green tea cheesecake and I-can’t-remember-what but both was really good.

20140119-154444.jpg
#28 I ordered Hokkaido milk frappe or something because I really wanted to taste Hokkaido milk again but this taste nothing like it. Was really disappointed. :(

20140119-154652.jpg
#29 Dinner was at Sra Bua, Kempinski Hotel. We initially wanted to have our dinner at Nahm, which is a very famous restaurant for fine dine but they were fully booked for 2 weeks wtf. Fully book for 2 friggin weeks!?

Nahm just went into my must try list the next time I’m going to Bangkok and I will book 3 months in advance pfft.
We ordered 3 sets to share and additional entree.

20140119-154758.jpg
#30 Nibblings; Soy roasted cashew nut meringue, Kaffir lime leaf scented lotus root, and Prawn cracker with Chili Tomato.

20140119-154809.jpg
#31 Fried mullet with tamarind, lemongrass, and crispy prawn.

20140119-154826.jpg
#32 Food did not impress much although presentation did. It’s good to be innovative but you must really hit the right note.

There’s a lot to try in their set menu but I really wouldn’t recommend them to you guys.
They’re not that bad but just really not worth the money and time.

20140119-153807.jpg
#33

20140119-153744.jpg
#34

20140119-154914.jpg
#35 After dinner, we all headed to Lebua at State Tower because Fatty wants to bring his family over to have a look.

20140119-154921.jpg
#36 Breeze.

20140119-154930.jpg
#37 Headed back to hotel and the two of us went up to Sofitel So’s sky bar. Everyone else was too tired for another round. The lifts are separated into four different elements too.

20140119-154954.jpg
#38 I kind of like their bar, I like how they look really different from the usual sky bars.

20140119-154942.jpg
#39 And really comfy too because they have day beds for me to just sit and do nothing.

Sometimes it’s nice to try out the not so famous sky bars and you might be surprise how enjoyable it can get.

Bangkok with Tays : Day 2 & Day 3

There isn’t much pictures from our second day at Bangkok because it was a Saturday and Saturday at Bangkok means Chatuchak day!

20140119-135806.jpg
#1 Started the day off by eating street snacks. I didn’t try this though, not very drawn to sweet stuff.

20140119-135817.jpg
#2 Sat down and had noodles before all of us go on a shopping frenzy. This is my very large bowl of coconut noodle, not large portion but a very large bowl. It was actually quite good, love it when coconut milk is added into spicy soup.

20140119-135843.jpg
#3 Paella at Chatuchak which I really wanted to try but didn’t have the chance to. Too busy buying stuff wtf.

20140119-135834.jpg
#4 Chatuchak now have some pretty nice mini pop-up cafes which is best for shoppers to take a break and rest their feet.

Okay that’s the end of my day 2 wtf hahaha!
We shop till evening, get ourselves a foot massage each and then went back to have dinner at Chinatown T&K Seafood.
We’re all pretty worn out by then but Fatty insisted that he wants to go to Speakeasy, Muse’s rooftop bar so I had to accompany him.

20140119-135926.jpg
#5 There were two floors and we went to the highest floor which we did not step foot on during our stay two years ago. There’s a significant difference between the two floors and I prefer the upper floor. There’s also a dome for dining purpose and the ambiance looks really nice, would like to try it the next time. :)

Third day was dedicated to sight seeing so we booked a van to make our trip easier.
Itinerary was Maeklong train market (which my mom kept telling me how cute it is and that I must go) and Amphawa floating market.
Instead of going to Damnoen Saduak floating market that most tourist loves because it is one of the most popular, we opt for Amphawa floating market instead.
Damnoen Saduak is more of a commercialized floating market and Amphawa is famous among the locals.

20140119-153733.jpg
#6 Selfie! Haha, I really like this picture because this looks really cute. Noticed how the three on the left was smiling without teeth while the three on the right was smiling with teeth. :D

20140119-135953.jpg
#7 Thailand’s Kueh Chap for breakfast.

20140119-135946.jpg
#8 Dessert that looks really like sea urchin.

20140119-153753.jpg
#9 Candid! Yes, I was constantly using my phone. What a bad habit!

20140119-140003.jpg
#10 Maeklong train market that is filled with tourists. It is one hour away from Bangkok city centre.

Maeklong train market is actually a wet market that is centered around Maeklong’s railway. Locals will buy their usual fresh vegetables and fresh seafood while tourists walk around, exploring the market while waiting for the train to pass by.

20140119-140022.jpg
#11 5 tall Tays and 1 short Chow. :)

20140119-140047.jpg
#12 ANGEL! My ass!

20140119-140040.jpg
#13 Market is sheltered by awnings or umbrellas that hangs lowly and whenever a siren is heard, vendors will store away their produces and pull back their umbrellas in order to allow the train to pass by. This is what all vendors do few times a day.

20140119-140055.jpg
#14 Important ladies in Fatty’s life. (Haha cheat one, I tiptoed a little bit.) :P

20140119-140105.jpg
#15 Maeklong’s market iconic fish. I like how they store it in a dim-sum look a like basket.

20140119-140132.jpg
#16

20140119-140143.jpg
#17 Fried frogs? Wtf.

20140119-140155.jpg
#18 Vendors at work, pulling in their umbrellas.

20140119-140205.jpg
#19 Train’s here!

20140119-140219.jpg
#20 It was really worth seeing and do check on the train’s schedule in order not to waste so much time.

20140119-140338.jpg
#21 This boy likes to smirk so much he thought he’s Edison Chen.

20140119-140259.jpg
#22 Amphawa floating market is just 15 minutes away from Maeklong train market.

20140119-140410.jpg
#23 We reached a tad bit early so it wasn’t fully open yet. Maybe you can try reaching at about 2 or 3pm. There’s a lot of food around and I’d really like to try eating by the river on small wooden chairs.

20140119-140309.jpg
#24 One and only picture of us taken on the boat turned out blur. :(

20140119-140328.jpg
#25

20140119-140322.jpg
#26 Passed by an abandoned temple which looks magnificent somehow.

20140119-140343.jpg
#27 You know it was so chilly in Bangkok and we did not walk under the sun THAT much, Fatty got fairer after 5 days. I prefer the fairer him.

20140119-140357.jpg
#28

20140119-140427.jpg
#29 Instead of taking our lunch by the canal, ordering through the vendor on boats and eating while almost squatting down we went into a restaurant instead. Fatty’s father prefer the comfier way.

After lunch we went back to city centre and checked into So Sofitel.
Third day, to be continue.

Bangkok with Tays : Day 1.

Once again I was back at one of my favourite city, Bangkok.
Before I start crapping, I want to say a big thank you to my boyfriend’s family for including me into their family trip.
I cant express my gratitude enough.
The timing was perfect too, right on time for me to buy my Chinese New Year clothes! :)

The last time I flew from KLIA was 12 years ago to Europe, so you can imagine my little excitement.
Yes, little things like this excites me wtf. Air ticket was about RM700+ per person, not too big a difference from AirAsia.

Take note: If you’re a person who couldn’t live without mobile internet (just like me), you can purchase data sim card in the airport itself. You will eventually walk to the area where they sell the sim cards and if you’re afraid that they do not have micro sim or nano sim they actually do. So no worries about buying a sim card cutter. (:

We stayed at two different hotels and we stayed at Muse (which I blogged about here) for the first two nights.

20140112-180911.jpg
#1

20140112-180917.jpg
#2 Six person, three rooms altogether and yet none of the rooms were the same as the one Fatty and I stayed in last year. I prefer that room though, I get to play with the television. :\

20140112-180429.jpg
#3 After settling down we went to Victory Monument area to have Boat Noodle for lunch.

I’ve heard of Boat Noodle from Gavin when we went to Bangkok together last year last two year and all he said was Boat Noodle is famous among the locals and that it is located under a bridge.
Glad I get to try it this time.

After trying to locate where the Boat Noodle is for some time and not getting what we wanted, we went into a 7-11 store to ask for directions.
A very nice lady took us all the way to where the noodle is.

According to what I read online, the best way is to look for the canal while you’re on the pedestrian bridge and taking note that Victory Monument is on your left. If all else fail, just ask the locals for the direction.

20140112-180518.jpg
#4 There’s a whole stretch of stalls by the canal all selling Boat Noodles. We weren’t sure which is the best so we just randomly walk into one.

20140112-180438.jpg
#5 One do not simply resist raw shrimp.

20140112-180445.jpg
#6 Boat noodle HAHAHAHA. The portion is so small you can finish it in two mouthfuls.

20140112-180453.jpg
#7 Each bowl is 10baht from the stalls we ate and because of it’s small portion, one can eat up to at least 5 to 6 bowls.

When you’re done eating each bowl, you stack them up like how we stack up our sushi plates. It’s quite fun to watch and eat and stack because in a weird way you’ll feel like a giant for eating that much (illusion).
They do have quite a number of flavors so you can try most of them.

20140112-180511.jpg
#8 Thai dessert which tastes a little like our kuih talam.

20140112-180536.jpg
#9 After our lunch, our itinerary was to go to Wat Arun.

Wat Arun is also named the Temple of Dawn but we weren’t there to witness it’s glory because we left before the sun sets.
Oh ya talking about the sun, can you believe it that we were all shivering because it was too cold in Bangkok!?
Must be me being an ignorant person or something, I didn’t know that during year end Bangkok tends to be more chilly but according to the locals this year is exceptionally cold.
Temperature could go as low as 18 degree oh my god!

20140112-180552.jpg
#10 Our means of transport to Wat Arun.

20140112-180606.jpg
#11 Le fats and I.

20140112-180600.jpg
#12 Yes, this is what I did half the time on the boat because the water from river kept splashing on my face OMG!
I don’t want to imagine how dirty the river is. And halfway through I feel asleep hahahah!

20140112-180624.jpg
#13 Don’t know how it feels like to stay in houses like such, must be quite chill. (:

20140112-180646.jpg
#14 Wat Arun. Remember to dress accordingly or you’ll have to rent sarong at their entrance.

20140112-180703.jpg
#15 Fatty with his parents and two younger sisters. They’re all so tall! T_T

20140112-180722.jpg
#16

20140112-180730.jpg
#17

20140112-180744.jpg
#18

20140112-180758.jpg
#19 I climbed up the temple with Bernice and I had a super hard time coming down! The stairs was so steep and I was afraid of height so it really takes up a lot of courage for me to climb down that flight of stairs.

20140112-180751.jpg
#20 But I have a deep sense of accomplishment too cause I tried to face my fears.

20140112-180822.jpg
#21

20140112-180844.jpg
#22 After spending some time at Wat Arun, we decided to go over to Asiatique to have a look.

20140112-180851.jpg
#23 There was a food fair at Asiatique so we settle that as our dinner.

20140112-180858.jpg
#24 Looks good but the food really didn’t live up to it’s expectation. What we had on street side was much better.

20140112-180905.jpg
#25 It was a long long day but however long my day was I cant say no to 7-11’s food! Green curry is what I crave for very often so I was really happy!

Langkawi Getaway with Le Family

Just right after a week flying off to Singapore, I flew to Langkawi again with le family members.
Our only intention was to let both the kids take their ride on an airplane for the first time and also to bring them for a holiday after a year long of studies.

20131207-154100.jpg
#1 They’ve grown so much now, both my little cousin brothers.

We took an early flight and it was right about time to have our breakfast when we arrive.
No idea what to eat, I started scrolling through Foursquare lol.

20131207-154125.jpg
#2 Breakfast Bar which basically serves two slices of bread, some lousy scramble egg and charged you for Rm8 or so. Lousy food that is way ridiculously priced. Just don’t.

20131207-154221.jpg
#3 Meet the younger brother which somehow kinda resembles my brother when he was a little kid.

We rented a seven seater for RM200 or so (can’t remember much) for a total of 3 days.

20131207-154238.jpg
#4 Beautiful shades of blue. (:

20131207-154231.jpg
#5 My favorite uncle and his kids.

20131207-154600.jpg
#6 On the first day it was all about climbing hundreds and hundreds steps of stairs at Telaga Tujuh waterfall and ocasionally saying Hi to a few monkeys along the way.

20131207-154254.jpg
#7 Telaga Tujuh waterfall is one of the famous waterfall here in Langkawi and there’s a cerita dongeng to it about seven fairies and all.

Actually I do find cerita dongeng to be quite interesting, even more knowing that it is pass down through so many generations.

20131207-154336.jpg
#8 The water was icy cold while the sun was burning, so it was quite a good combination. My mom who is ever so afraid of the sun was holding her umbrella the entire time. -_-‘

20131207-154317.jpg
#9 Le skinny brother.

20131207-154402.jpg
#10 Mom said, ‘She’s gonna take some stupid leg pictures again’. LOL!

20131207-154044.jpg
#11 Mom, other than that I took selfies too haha.

20131207-154018.jpg
#12 Two monkeys that constantly drove me crazy the entire trip. They either run around, fight each other, or laugh non-stop. Not for a single moment they will stay calm and sit still unless they’re eating. T_T

20131207-154025.jpg
#13 Haha mata sepet!

20131207-154922.jpg
#14 I love the boys so much that if they don’t have the money to go to college in the future and so happen (hopefully haha) that I’m mad rich, I’ll pay for their tuition fees. As long as they have a bright future and as long as I have the moolah. This boy here has a talent in drawing that makes me mad happy. (:

20131207-154801.jpg

20131207-154934.jpg
#16

20131207-154504.jpg
#17 Where the water flows down.

It is better and wiser to climb all the way up in my opinion because we’re the ‘first hand user’.
This might sound gross but what if people from the top took a piss and you dip yourself in it at the bottom. Just no thanks.

#19

20131207-154728.jpg
#20 We wanted to go for cable car on the second day but it was raining the entire day. We only managed to shop at duty free shop and go for high tea afterwards at The English Tea Room and Coffee. The fresh cream was homemade and it tasted great but scone wise, I still prefer scones baked by Fatty’s mom.

20131207-154701.jpg
#21 To not let our day go to waste, we went to the beach at Pantai Tengah although it was drizzling. You know, YOLO. HAHA!

20131207-154710.jpg
#22

20131207-154720.jpg
#23 The younger brother was crying and screaming because he is afraid of the sea. He finds it dirty and he just dislike it so much but my uncle carried him into the sea anyway. Let’s just say you wouldn’t want to make this kid mad.

I asked him to helped me bring back my camera onto the beach while he’s heading back (crying and feeling extremely angry) and halfway through he just dumped my camera onto the sand. He continued walking without giving two hoots about my camera, dafuq. This kid has got some attitude, haha.

It was still raining the third day and without much choice, we went to Laman Padi to let the kids have a look at paddy field. No entrance fees needed.

20131207-155019.jpg
#24 A pretty sight to behold.

20131207-174405.jpg
#27 Le brother and mini me.

Looking at the shorts I was wearing that day, it reminded me of a funny incident.
I’m that kind of girl who will eat until I’m full to the brim, no 70% full kind of thing in my context.
So I was wearing this high-waist-super-tight-shorts and you know how whenever you wear anything high waist, you have this illusion that you’re really full but it is actually just the high waist being tight.
So I let go my button and pulled down my zip a little (HAHA THAT’S WHAT I ALWAYS DO / OR UNBUCKLE MY BELT AHEM) and I continued eating. I finished eating and totally forgot about my unbuttoned shorts and at one point the kids were driving me crazy, so I stood up and scolded at them.
That’s when my mom asked while laughing, why is my shorts unbuttoned to that point.
HAHAHA these are the stupid things I put myself through.

There was also once during high school when I went to Genting for a trip and I was wearing a tube inside, covered by my jacket. I zipped my jacket because I was too cold and when I was at indoor, finally feeling a little bit of heat, I unzipped my jacket (in a very macho way wtf) and my tube top was actually below my bra. Because my boobs are so small they cant hold the tube especially when I kept moving for so many hours and I actually did that in front of my friends.
HAHAHA super FML moments. Now that I think back, it was so funny.

20131207-155039.jpg
#28 Mi, that’s what I call her.

20131207-155008.jpg
#29 She kinda had fun playing with props and all.

After exploring the paddy field we went to a beach side that is right beside Langkawi’s airport.
We just used our time to eat chocolates (more like them, not me), the boys kept picking up ‘mini durians’ and once in awhile all of us get excited when we saw planes took off or land.

20131207-155104.jpg
#29 I actually used to really think that these were mini durians.

20131207-155122.jpg
#30 AirAsia taking off.

It was not quite a successful trip due to the rain and all but whatever we did, at least there’s a bonding time for all of us.
Once November is here, there’s always so much joy for at least 3 months. Holiday season is always the best!
There’s still a lot for me to look forward to. Feeling really grateful. (:

Spontaneous Trip To Singapore

Before I knew it, I am back from Singapore.
It was a rather spontaneous trip for us; my mom, my brother and I.
I saw my brother browsing for Bangkok’s hotel and he said he has got a few days off.
So I said, ‘Okay let me join you, I’ll only pay for the air tickets haha.’ Turns out ticket to Bangkok was too expensive for me, so the choice was between Medan and Singapore.

We decided on Singapore in the end because we wanted to try our luck and look for our father’s friend whom we’ve not met for more than ten years.
Luck was not with us though, the place he used to stay is now flattened and turned into a construction site.
There goes our last chance. :(

20131117-153916.jpg
#1 Right after take off.

20131117-140228.jpg
#2 We stayed two nights at Singapore and we bought a Singapore Tourist Pass each for $20. With this Singapore Tourist Pass you can take unlimited times of MRT, LRT and bus for 3 days. It really does save up a lot of money. You’ll have to pay an extra $10 deposit and return the card at the end of the third day to get your deposit back.

#10 We wanted to go to Gardens by The Bay the next day but my mom was too tired. I’ll just have to save it for next time, with Fatty.

#11 It was really a beautiful sight to behold during night time.

We headed to Sentosa the next day because mom wanted to check out the casino over there.

#12 Le mom in the casino.

It was my brother’s first time and he found the jackpot machine amusing so he put in $2 to try and I added in another $2. We won from $4 to $10.60 the first round and off we went haha.

Mom said ‘Such a bad thing to have a friend like you. Have to give you access to this and that.’
I replied, ‘What!? I’m not his friend. I’m his ex-girlfriend.’
And then she started asking, ‘What ex-girlfriend? Who is he? How come I don’t know you used to have him as a boyfriend?’.
Mom, there’s a lot you don’t know. (-_-‘)

#32 The last time I went to Singapore I didn’t really get to watch the entire Wonder Full (light and water show) but this time I get to. Do not sit too front or else you’ll be quite wet, like us.

The next day was dedicated to Singapore’s national museum, entrance fees is $10 per person.

#46 Kinetic rain at Changi airport that amuses me. It was 14 years ago when I last step foot at Changi airport.

I had to go back to LCCT alone because the flight was full and both my mom and my brother had to wait for the next flight.
Due to the fact that my brother is an Air Asia pilot, my mom and him will always buy last minute tickets which will sometimes result in heart attack.
They almost had to stay overnight at the airport, not fun.

For now, I’m just waiting for that few pairs of free flight tickets from my brother.
WHERE IS IT!?

25th Birthday Getaway : Japamala Resort – Day 2

On the second day, we both have to wake up at 5am in order to catch our 7am ferry at Mersing jetty to get to Japamala Resort.
It was about an hour and a half drive from Johor Bahru to Mersing Jetty and it is not advisable unless you really want to / have to stop at Johor Bahru.
Roads are bumpy, full with holes and most of the time there’s only one lane. All of these drive my boyfriend crazy haha.

From KL, you probably need about 5 hours of drive to Mersing Jetty and another one hour plus of ferry to Tioman or you can just fly to Tioman’s airport through Berjaya Air for only an hour.
Fatty swear to never drive to Mersing again (LOL) and claimed that he did it just because I wanted to go to Johor Bahru.
Okay I give him extra 50 points lah for being such a sweet boyfriend as he claimed to be.

There’s only one ferry company and it’s called Bluewater Express. Ticket is RM35 per way for an air-conditioned ferry which if were to compare is far from Macau’s ferry.
Not to mention they are also very bad at their services because on the day we left, they were behind schedule for more than one and a half hour.
What’s worse is that they are not even apologetic and kept shouting that they can only fit 50 passengers right there and then.
So what about the others who waited at the jetty for about 2 hours?
Lucky us we were among the 50 passengers or else I don’t know how Fatty will react. But then again you’ve got no choice because this is the only ferry company that operates which is why flying to Tioman is no doubt the best choice.

20131111-001309.jpg
#1 Mersing jetty.

20131111-001322.jpg
#2 How the ferry looks like from the inside.

There’s a few stops and to go to Japamala Resort you’ll have to get down at the first stop, Genting.
At Genting jetty, Japamala Resort had a speedboat ready to send us to Japamala which takes only about 5 minutes.

20131111-001331.jpg
#3 You will of course have to inform Japamala on your boarding time at Mersing Jetty so that they’ll know what time they have to pick you up at Genting’s jetty.

Japamala charges Rm30 per way from Genting jetty to Japamala which I think is quite ridiculous.
Guests spend so much a day at Japamala Resort and they feel the need to charge us Rm30 per way, per person for a 5 minutes distance.
Well, that’s not very sweet of them.

You rent their room for at least about Rm500 per night, you are force to eat at Japamala too because it’s a private beach so there’s nothing else and it’ll cost at least RM30 per dish (lunch & dinner) and then you’ll most likely go for a massage for at least Rm150.
Hotel Icon at Hong Kong gave us free upgrade, free minibar and free shuttle bus lor okay.
It’s not that I don’t have the money, it’s just that why don’t they be a little kind/sweet instead of erm say money minded? PFFT! Okay lah actually this is my only complain and I only got angry like now when I blog. It didn’t occur to me when I was there that they shouldn’t charge the guests, guess I was too happy to give a shit lol.

Plants, animals and land have been disturbed as little as possible. It’s been our goal to build around nature – to respect and preserve the inherent beauty of this destination; to coexist with all who dwell here. Great care has been taken to minimize any environmental impact. No rocks were moved, no trees were cut down. As a result no two Villas are the same. Each is unique – taking on the character of the land upon which it is built.

Truly appreciate their love for nature that instead of building what they want, they decided to build around the nature and adjust to it’s shapes and forms.
I heard there were monkeys, sometimes dipping themselves into one of Japamala’s pool early in the morning. :)

#4 Walking towards the lobby from Japamala’s jetty.

20131111-001655.jpg
#5 It was drizzling when we arrived cause it was monsoon season. Pfft!

20131111-001831.jpg
#6 Breakfast is included and because we have to leave real early the next day due to the stupid Bluewater Express’ schedule, we had our breakfast on the day we arrived instead.

20131111-001842.jpg
#7 It’s a small breakfast buffet with ala-carte that you can order.

20131111-002017.jpg
#8 Right next to Tamarind Restaurant, where we had our breakfast.

Japamala Resort is owned by Samadhi Retreats and so are Neo Tamarind, Tamarind Springs, and so on.
We didn’t get to check in until 12pm because I requested for Room 16 which has the best view among the Sea Cliff Chalet.
so we just walked around, checked out the places and took a nap at one of their cabanas.

20131111-002203.jpg
#9 We had to climb a number of stairs in order to reach our room. I was panting every time.

20131111-002237.jpg
#10 Gosh I miss this!

20131111-002337.jpg
#11 Rm660 were charged for a night stay at Sea Cliff Chalet and this is the price for non-peak season due to monsoon. Full rate will be Rm890 per night.

Tips: Must request for Room 16 if you’re taking Sea Cliff Chalet, it has got the best view.

#16 If not for the monsoon, the sea will be a lot bluer than this. I was actually surprised that Tioman is included in a ‘Island-you-must-go’ kind of list.

20131111-002655.jpg
#17 One of the Sea Cliff Chalet opposite ours. Don’t know how they see the sea lah, surrounded by trees.

After settling down, Fatty went for his massage while I took a shower and rest in the room.
There’s only one masseuse so we have to take turns and it’s quite a turn off when couples cant do their massage together.
I was like, ‘HAR!? :( :( :( ‘ because we’re left with no choice. Definitely time consuming.

20131111-002919.jpg
#18 Different types of massage will have different venue and this is one of the venue.

20131111-003045.jpg
#19 While this is the second, a room for Thai massage.

Fatty’s massage was RM150 and as for mine, I took Head and Shoulder massage for Rm125 which lasts both of us an hour.
The masseuse was so good I actually fell asleep and that is rare for me cause I hardly sleep during massage.
We also book a Jacuzzi for two for RM100 and while they take their time to prepare and heat it up, we went off to take some pictures.

#29 Then it’s jacuzzi time! Jacuzzi that was filled with bubbles and two pots of hot tea by the side for us to enjoy.

20131111-004131.jpg
#30 The jacuzzi was ze bomb! There was bubble everywhere and it smells so good!

Due to me being the cheapskate me, I was in the jacuzzi for about half an hour even though I know I shouldn’t.
When I get out of the jacuzzi, I almost fainted. I couldn’t stand the dizzyness I dropped on the floor. T_T
Dahlah got low blood pressure, still want to put myself in a hot tub for that long. Haha, I hate myself sometimes.

20131111-004038.jpg
#31 Hahaha stupid boyfriend tried to used bubble to make himself look like a santa claus.

20131111-004732.jpg
#32 Went off to snorkeling after Jacuzzi. My first time snorkeling with Fatty and my first time wearing flippers too. It was fun!
Snorkeling equipment can be rent for free.

20131111-004745.jpg
#33 HAHAHAH! So ugly!

20131111-004951.jpg
#34 “Why did you take picture of my ass!?’ Haha cause I can’t really see the screen and I just randomly snap whatever I could.

20131111-004924.jpg
#35 Fatty was so busy swimming and snorkeling, he didn’t help take pictures of me snorkeling. Meh, so I have to self layan and take my fingers instead.

20131111-004851.jpg
#36 There were lots of fishes swimming around and I was particularly drawn to this colourful fish. I also saw sea cucumber and sea urchin.
Showered after snorkeling and off we went for happy hour.
From 6pm to 7pm everyday, Japamala will have happy hour and offers free drinks and snacks for guests.

#45 Lobster tagliatelle.

Food was really decent and up to standard. I especially love their beef carpacio and lobster tagliatelle.
I didn’t want to order their soup but Fatty always tends to order a lot. Something he totally inherited from his dad, over order during meals.
Total damage done was Rm341 excluding tax.

I asked Fatty, ‘You didn’t get me cake ah? You didn’t ask them to prepare cake for me meh?’ with puppy eyes and he said he did not.
So I replied, ‘WHY? :( :( You can just ask them for cake they have it one!’ and Fatty beh tahan me so he had to screw up his surprise and said ‘Got lah, got lah. Aiyo this girl’. HAHAHA!

20131111-010124.jpg
#46 Yay! The type of cake that I dislike the most, chocolate cake. HAHA!

#48 Thank you baby for celebrating yet another birthday with me. He somehow promised that for my birthday every year, we’ll go for a getaway. As the Chinese says, ‘listen first lah’ (teng ju sin). Hehe. :)

20131111-010208.jpg
#49 Despite the monsoon season, the sea was really blue the next morning when we woke up. Imagine normal sunny days, this will be your paradise.

I only wish that we can stay for another night cause I’m a greedy girl like that. Haha.
I had the time of my life, relax, fun, and lots of laughter on my birthday.
Despite being the oldest I have ever been right now, this year’s birthday is one of the best.

Great getaway and I also finally have the ability to get myself a birthday present that I’ve wanted all this years.
The latest Iphone! Hehehe.
Don’t want to jinx it but God has been very generous to me this year, I cant thank God enough. :)

P/S: My blog just turned 7 too.
